Joe Camicia is Retiring

Nine years ago Advocacy.Marketing was one of the first Sacramento digital marketing firms to focus on government, politics and public affairs. Co-founded by elected and appointed official Joe Camicia, A.M has spent the last decade focusing on digital tools for clients in political campaigns, issue advocacy, lobbying and coalition building, along with more traditional public affairs activities.

With March being Women's History Month Joe thought now was the right time to turnover the reins of A.M to his partners Ana Marie Carlton and Tara Lenoir. Joe will still consult for A.M from time-to-time but day-to-day operation of A.M will be overseen by Ana Marie and Tara. How to start a podcast

In light of the new podcast studio we launched in Sacramento, we are sharing just how easy it is to do it on your own.

If you’ve wanted to start podcasting but don’t know where to begin, you’ve come to the right place!

Here’s a quick step-by-step guide on how to get started. If you would like to schedule a Free Consultation with our friendly expert, James Scrivano, click here.

Step 1: Choose a topic and a name

Similar to a blog, it’s important to nail down what topic or niche you want to focus on. What are your expertise? What can you talk about for many episodes, or interview fellow experts on in your field? Your episode should add value to the listener so you can ultimately build an audience.

It’s also important to finalize and pick a name for your podcast. Sample names for popular podcasts include:

  • Tim Ferris Show

  • The Joe Rogan Experience

  • Political Gabfest

Step 2: Decide on your show and episode format

Decide on how long you want your podcast episodes to be; they can vary from 10 minutes long to a few hours long; it just depends on what topic you want to cover, or who you want to interview that day.

We can advise you every step of the way.

Step 3: Cover Art Creation

Your Cover Art is like the Album Cover of your podcast show; it should represent your style and at the same time capture the interest of your audience.

We can also provide this service.

Step 4: Music choice

This is the short music that typically will start and end your podcast. It should represent the overall style of your show and be short enough to keep listeners engaged. This is part of the service we provide.

Step 5: Audio recording and editing

We have secured the audio equipment, software and expertise to produce and distribute a top-notch podcast for your organization or campaign.

The studio can be rented by the hour or by the show. Our Director of Podcasting, James Scrivano, has produced and distributed more than 200 podcasts and is experienced at helping to craft messaging and maximize production value.

Step 6: Distribute to appropriate channels

Once your podcast is recorded, produced and ready to share with the world, we can help you maximize each episode of your new show and distribute to the appropriate channels, depending on which audience you are trying to reach. This is a big focus of our services.

Step 7: Promote

This involves promoting your podcast via other digital channels, including email distribution, social media promotion and running ads. This is an additional service we provide.

We've Launched a Podcasting Studio!

Podcasting is exploding as a way to illuminate issues, reach voters and constituents and promote causes and initiatives. Until now, to produce a podcast, you needed thousands of dollars in production equipment and dedicated software to produce and distribute your podcast. No more.

Advocacy.Marketing LLC - a leader in digital marketing and coalition building in California politics and public affairs - has just opened a podcasting studio that can be rented by the hour or by the show.

The studio is located right across from the Capitol - at 1127 11th Street #320 (above Chicory).

A.M has secured the audio equipment, software and expertise to produce and distribute a top-notch podcast for your organization or campaign.

The studio can be rented by the hour or by the show. Our Director of Podcasting, James Scrivano, has produced and distributed more than 200 podcasts and is experienced at helping to craft messaging and maximize production value.

Per Scrivano:

“Podcasting has arrived as one of the most powerful communications tools available today. But to use this tool effectively requires expensive equipment, production expertise and distribution know-how. Advocacy.Marketing-Podcasting can provide all that on an hourly or per-show basis.”

“Effective podcasting is more than just turning on a microphone” added Scrivano. “Listeners expect broadcast-quality production - and effective programming requires knowledge of the topic at hand, the target audience and the corresponding distribution vehicles. Especially if you want your podcast to motivate listeners to take action – such as to cast a vote or to call the governor.”

Advocacy.Marketing-Podcasting is holding an Open House on Tuesday, January 28 to showcase their new studio and to connect with individuals and organizations interested in launching a podcast (or improving the production value and reach of an existing podcast). The Open House will be held from 11:30 - 1:30 at the A.M podcasting studio - which is located at 1127 11th Street, Suite 320, Sacramento 95814 (at the corner of L Street and 11th).

For guidance on beginning a new podcast or for more information on renting the A.M podcasting studio, you can contact James Scrivano at (916) 572-5386 or by email at james@advocacy.marketing.
